Day 1

The Super Cub will drop you off on the white ice of a Chugach Mountain glacier, an awesome experience. A short walk will bring you safely to the lateral moraine of the glacier. Or, if you desire, several hours may be spent exploring glacier terrain. Walk where no one has walked before as new terra-firma is revealed, glacier streams are formed, and rocks are moved, all in response to the glaciers melting and moving. Afterward, traverse the length of an Iceberg Lake and enjoy the very rare experience of walking amongst mammoth icebergs abandoned as the lake drained beneath them. End the day by setting up camp near a mountain stream on the valley floor below neighboring Moulan Glacier.

Day 2

On this day, several options are available. You might choose to spend more time with the ice bergs, explore Moulan Glacier, or just lie in the sun and enjoy a book. In the afternoon make your way up the 1500’ pass while enjoying the views of neighboring glaciers and waterfalls. Camp will be made alongside a small mountain lake, where the panorama is surreal.

Day 3

Enjoy a relaxing last day in the wilderness as you make your way over the pass. Descend into a large river drainage to the strip for an afternoon pickup by a Super Cub. A scenic flight over your route will deliver you safely back to the airstrip.

  1. This is just a glimpse of what the trip might be like. The number of miles, number of days, and possible routes, are extremely flexible. We leave it wide open for your convenience.
